Tasting Notes

The name refers to a white wine from the grape Vernaccia, which is produced in Siena, Tuscany and made famous by the San Gimignano town. This absolute legend of a white wine is not only affordable as an every day drinker, but it's also super interesting.

Exceptionally fragrant with notes of minerality and white flowers. The follow through onto the palate is crisp minerality, green apples, jasmine flowers and peaches. It’s textural and floral, crisp and delicious.

Enjoy Me With

This wine makes me think of being somewhere warm, where I can drink this Vernaccia in the sun and enjoy each moment like an ever lasting weekend. It is great as an aperitif with a light and fresh seafood platter, or due to the textural palate weight and flavour profile, you can easily pair with heavier seafood dishes such as fish stews or a pasta with prawns and truffle.

It makes me want to sit out on the deck, look at the ocean and eat oysters - Jeremy.

Vineyard in Focus

Fratelli Vagnoni is exactly what you picture when you think of the perfect Tuscan Villa surrounded by vineyards that produce stunning wines. The Vagnoni brothers vineyard consists of 20 hectares planted that produce Sangiovese, Vernaccia Di San Gimignano, Chardonnay, Vermentino, Canaolo and Merlot. The vineyard has achieved the highest rating in the Italian rating system of DOCG. A combination of traditional wine production techniques are used to create the wines; which includes fermentation in open concrete tubs, stainless steel as well as the use of oak for maturation of a selection of both white and red wines. Modern techniques are also now also being utilised to ensure the quality and consistency of their wines.
