Tasting Notes

Grown in the Venice region, this is a great example of Pinot Grigio - vibrant and fruit driven, yet balanced. There is also a great acidity due to the high altitudes at which the grapes are grown at. The nose is quite aromatic and fruit driven and the palate is exactly what you want from a Grigio. Look for apples and pears to start, then as this wine opens it begins to show more orchard fruits.

This style is so appealing as it has been made well, with good quality grapes and is so much better than many on the market which are light and watery.

Enjoy Me With

Absolutely lovely by itself, or I highly recommend any form of spicy Asian dishes or seafood. It works perfectly with fish, calamari and prawns, especially if cooked on the BBQ.

Also, don’t be afraid to pair it with curry. My favourites are Indian curries, such as the Southern Indian Malabar Fish Biryani.

Pinot Grigio done very well. It is delicious and able to be enjoyed for a number of occasions with or without food. A great all rounder wine that is so versatile.

Vineyard in Focus

Produced by a small cooperative, Poggio dei Principi source grapes from various regions of Italy. The wines made are in an easy to drink style and are affordable yet of great quality. The grapes come from low yielding vines, which ensures vibrance and fresh qualities. The wines are intended to be enjoyed young, whilst their youthful character is at its prime. Food friendly and made to be enjoyed with friends.
