Tasting Notes

In this Cabernet you’ll find hints of cassis, mulberry, dark chocolate and tobacco leaf. This wine has spent two years in both American and French Oak and definitely has the potential to age much longer, it’s great to see a Cabernet with a bit of bottle age in order to develop tannin structure and secondary characters.

Enjoy Me With

Let’s be honest - we want to eat meat with this. This wine deserves a medium rare Robbins Island Wagyu scotch fillet. You don’t need to pair it with a salad, just more wine. Go Home Alone like Macaulay Culkin so you don’t have to share it.

Patrick of Coonawarra is funnily enough from Coonawarra, South Australia, established by the celebrated winemaker Patrick Tocaciu. Over 3000 vines have been planted and in 2011 a further vineyard was purchased and planted out to aromatic white varietals and more Cabernet. To diversify the range, he went in deep and purchased land in the Wrattonbully region containing 3 red varieties and 3 white. These people obviously love their Cabernet hence why they produce 4 different labels with the same variety. We must admit we like it too.
