Tasting Notes

On the nose exhibits aspects of soft green pear, candy ginger, nougat and exotic spices. The palate shows off white peach, apple and citrus pith and well rounded texture and great length that continues to build.

Enjoy me with

With a generous palate, we paired this lovely Gris with a fish that wouldn’t overpower the wine. We took whole flounder and pan roasted it in garlic, butter and finished it with a good squeeze of fresh lemon and roughly chopped Italian flat leaf parsley. Serve the flounder with a side of steamed new season baby potatoes, melted butter and parsley - a lovely pairing of simplicity that just works.

About

In 1821, Gala Estate was gifted to James Amos. Gala Estate is located in Cranbrook on the East Coast of Tasmania, where it is run by 5th, 6th and 7th generations of Amos, known for producing a variety of aromatic whites and single site Pinot Noir. Set in a quirky location with a rustic setting, it’s definitely an interesting place to visit, owned by sheep farmers who now happen to make some very smart wines.
