Tasting Notes

Think dried strawberries, plum, vanilla and nutmeg on the palate, with fine tannin and bright acidity. This variety originates and is most well known from the region of Piemonte in Northern Italy and accordingly, with respect and homage to this region, the wine has been made with care and respect. There is at least two drain and returns during the course of the ferment and then racked to barrel for Malolactic fermentation, maturation was completed in a combination of 15% new french St Martin oak and the remainder in old French oak barrels.

Enjoy me with

Due to the lovely spice element of the Barbera, we suggest the shank of a lamb. Bought fresh from the market, we had our Barbera with a Moroccan style tagine of lamb shank cooked in Ras Al Hanout, with dates, served on a bed of couscous.
