Tasting Notes

Trebbiano Abruzzese makes up 80% of this wine with Chardonnay being the remainder. A style of white that has citrus, minerality and ripe melon on the nose, which turns into a luscious melon and lively citrus palate. The minerality remains present too, backed by a lovely acidity.

Enjoy Me With

It’s fresh and bright and is just asking for grilled seafood and a fresh herb salad. Fennel and orange salad, handmade egg pasta with zucchini ribbons and pecorino and maybe a whole snapper on the BBQ.

This is why we are so fond of the Italian culture; friends, family, food and wine. Simply sit outside with loved ones and enjoy without any other thoughts required.  - Jeremy.

Vineyard in Focus

Founded in 1978, this family owned and run vineyard in the small town of Bolognano in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, is home to 300 hectares of well kept vines. The philosophies of excellence, passion and devotion are highlighted in the quality of the wines produced. The three wines from Zaccagnini that we chose to show case utilise grape varietals typical of the region - Trebbiano Abruzzese and Montepulciano grapes play a leading role. The winery has a sustainable vision introducing practices such as minimal irrigation and a reduction in the use of sulpher. The wines from Zaccagnini hold interesting flavour profiles with wonderful textural qualities.
