Tasting Notes

Italian Rosé, what a lovely thing. Displaying a lively bright pink colour that comes from Montepulciano grapes, this wonderful liveliness is also showcased on the nose. It has been made in much the same way that white wine is, with a short time of skin contact, just enough to extract colour and flavour. An intense fruit and fragrant strawberry palate, dry yet fruit driven, with enough body and weight to be rather luscious.

Enjoy Me With

Summer sun (or by a heater pretending it's sunny as may be the case). Food matches are fortunately quite broad; charcuterie, fresh salads and seafood, or you may even choose heavier dishes like roast chicken or pork. Whichever you decide, be sure to include friends! - Jeremy.

Vineyard in Focus

Founded in 1978, this family owned and run vineyard in the small town of Bolognano in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, is home to 300 hectares of well kept vines. The philosophies of excellence, passion and devotion are highlighted in the quality of the wines produced. The three wines from Zaccagnini that we chose to showcase utilise grape varietals typical of the region - Trebbiano Abruzzese and Montepulciano grapes play a leading role. The winery has a sustainable vision introducing practices such as minimal irrigation and a reduction in the use of sulpher. The wines from Zaccagnini hold interesting flavour profiles with wonderful textural qualities.
