Tasting Notes

Grüner Veltliner is one of my favourite grape varietals of all time and this a particularly beautiful example. It is fresh and bright, and displays citrus and minerality on the nose. Whilst on the palate white flowers and citrus lead the way to a fresh, spicy finish. The minerality quality is present with a lovely acid structure.

Although young it has such great ageing capabilities that transforms the wine into a golden hue, with honeysuckle, extreme floral and rich characters.

Enjoy Me With

The delicacy of this wine can be enjoyed on its own as it is so delicious, otherwise my recommendation would be light seafood dishes - sashimi would be an excellent match. The acid structure, citrus and spice also ensures that it works incredibly well with spicy foods; look to Thai and Vietnamese dishes.

Oh what a wine, it's incredible! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

- Jeremy.

Vineyard in Focus

Cantina Valle Isarco is located in North Eastern Italy on the border of Austria and Switzerland, in a region known as Alto Adige / South Tyrol. The winery originally began in 1961, founded by 24 members. Today there are now 120 members from 11 municipalities from all over the Isarco Ranges.

The grapes are grown between 300 and 950 meters above sea level, across 140 hectares. Due to the cool climate, white grape varieties flourish in this region and as a result, Cantina Valle Isarco produces about 10 different varietals of white wine and only a handful of red. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring this range of wines and we hope you do too.
