Lemon citrus and minerality are distinctly present on the nose and this is exactly the same on the palate. The acid structure is lovely with the palate being full and fresh. There are some secondary characters begging to emerge with subtle pear and fresh white flowers.

The winery only grows several indigenous grape varietals, including the white Carricante and the two red varietals of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. The wines are grown and made with integrity and skill and as a result the wines are incredible in quality, extremely elegant and refined.
The winery began in 1988, with the first vintage of 1990 being released in 1994. The winery is now run by two brothers Silvino and Antonio Benanti who are continuing their fathers legacy. The wine maker Vincenzo Cali favours minimal new oak, wild yeasts and most importantly, the wines are only released when they are truly ready. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to these wines, they are incredible.
