Find dark cherries, black pepper and baking spices on the nose which makes you want to drink it straight away. The grapes are fermented and aged in stainless steel to ensure bright fruit is present on the nose and palate. Notes of black pepper, red fruit, balsamic, coffee and tobacco are all welcome inclusions to the flavour profile.

Nero works so well with braised meats. Game meats are also an excellent match. What’s great about this wine is that it has the luscious body and weight to be a hearty winter red, however a bright fruit character and lack of oak ensures the wine is still thoroughly enjoyable in Summer.
Vineyard in Focus
Located in the Valley of Noto in Eastern Sicily you will find the family-run Barone Sergio Estate that has been in the family for generations. The 30 hectares of vineyards are planted to Nero d’Avola, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grillo, Moscato and Petit Verdot. A unique combination of growing factors including interesting rocky soil and climatic conditions influenced by the Ionian Sea and the Monte Iblei Mountain Range, combine with the afore mentioned grape varietals to ensure that the wines are always incredibly interesting.
