An absolute winner of a wine, well structured, elegant and juicy without being too bold. It has a great dark cherry colour which follows to a sexy nose of vanilla, dark chocolate and spice. Whilst it has weight and body behind it, Well balanced, tannin weight and structure of this wine seamlessly combine to lead into dark red and blue fruits. The wine was open fermented and basket pressed for a more gentle approach to tannin, spending time in both American and French Oak. The American influence of vanilla is obvious but not overpowering, the palate has a great freshness to it and drinks well all year round.
A shiraz with body and weight can be paired with a plethora of meats - grilled, steaks and stews. Whilst this shiraz is not quite as bold and tannic as others. We recommend pairing this wine with kangaroo loin fillet grilled rare and marinated in balsamic vinegar, paprika, thyme and garlic on a searing hot BBQ. Serve up with a roast beetroot, rocket and goats cheese salad, all the flavours work well to not overpower or detract from one another.
