Chapman Grove 2008 Atticus Syrah
The Margaret River Region in Western Australia is home to Chapman Grove Vineyard. Initial plantings began in 1997 with the first Chapman Grove wines released in 2006 and just three years later Chapman Grove was recognised on a national scale by the likes of James Halliday.
This is a show stopper and the flagship wine for Chapman, critically acclaimed and given 94 points by James Halliday and Top Gold at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show and also a Jimmy Watson finalist. Luminescent cherry, hints of clove, dark fruit, elegant tannin structure from 18 months in French oak 40% being new and it is a complete wine, deserved of its status and is drinking well now, with nearly 10 years of age.

Sometimes we like to keep things simple, sort of. We picked up some 60 day dry aged Black Angus scotch fillets for the weekend, cooked them on a wood-fired bbq with some shaved Black Tasmanian Perigord Truffles and obviously drank the Atticus which created a simple yet perfect match.
